So... how about those game awards huh?

I do think this is probably one of the worst game awards shows in awhile but nothing quite irks me as much as the amount of people I see online saying there was NOTHING good at the game awards this year. Like really? Nothing? Nothing at all? Do you even PLAY games? Like sure all of the interesting stuff was frontloaded as hell but come ooonnn...

I could talk all day about Expedition 33 and how it was one of my personal biggest disappointments of the year (next to Ratatan) and how it literally is not an indie game (no matter what google tells you!) but I think instead of that I'd rather talk about the stuff no one else seems to be talking about: Video Games

Stuff announced I find interesting

It wasn't a particularly strong opening, but The Free Shepherd immediately struck me as "hey that looks kinda neat!" I'm curious what it's going to wind up being. I highly doubt it will just be a game about hearding sheep, at the very least.
Not too much to say without much to see, but I've got my eyes on it.

Audio Mech? Hell yeah? The dev of AudioSurf is so back man this announcement had me hype as hell. I was just thinking somewhat recently how I'd love more games like AudioSurf. Far from the perfect title but the concept of a music game that lets you use your own music to auto generate tracks to play is cool as hell, so I'm glad Dylan Fitterer is still working on and improving the concept.
I have high hopes!

Bradley The Badger I guess? Not really sure what the negetivity around this one is, everyone is just calling it "UE5 slop" which usually I'm not one to disagree with that but it seems like it's a part of the entire joke and I don't think people get that. The game looks neat, concept sounds kinda funny, protag seems quite annoying though.
Not watching this one too closely but I hope it finds success.

The trailer wasn't much, but we already know Divinity is gonna be huuuge... Apparently Larion turned down making Baldur's Gate 4 for it? That's what I saw being said on the matter anyways. VERY much looking forward to what they come out with without any restriction from WotC... when it comes out in 8 years.

Jonathan Blow's new game, Order of the Sinking Star actually looks pretty cool. Prior to seeing what was presented last night I had really low expectations for his upcoming title after The Witness but it actually shows quite a bit of promise. We don't see as many puzzle games coming out these days, really it would be silly to snub it so soon.

I'm not a big 40k guy but Total War: Warhammer 40K has the perfect setup to be an amazing game they just really need to not screw it up. Another game that will be great to play 5-8 years after launch when it's dlc is all out and the game could be considered finished!

...And I think that might be it for me, at least as far as stuff I'm personally interested in.

I already said it before but maaaan between E33 sweeping almost every single award, the somewhat lame GOTY contenders, and overall boring announcements not to even mention the "big secret reveal by the developers of titanfall 2" right at the end only to not be Titanfall 3... damn what a letdown. At least in a call full of friends it's still easy to have a good time.
